The Dark Flag 500 Commander is the most striking bike in our range, for an unusual reason: it runs a 496 cc V4 engine. Almost nobody builds a V4 at half a litre, and you can hear it as clearly as you can see it.
It delivers 47 hp at 9,000 rpm and 42 Nm at 7,200 rpm, with a six-speed gearbox and slipper clutch, and stays within A2 limits. Up front there's a 41 mm inverted fork and a floating disc with a four-piston J.Juan caliper.
At the rear it uses adjustable Airmatic air suspension, letting you change the firmness depending on whether you're carrying a passenger. At 260 kg dry and 1,586 mm between the axles it's a genuinely big machine, with the seat at just 700 mm.
